Dental X-Ray
Dental X-rays assessment is significant during the standard examination as they can diagnose issues that may not be perceivable on a surface level with the naked eye. There are three important types of dental X-rays:
- Intra-oral peri apical radiograph: Intra-oral and extra-oral. Intra-oral X-ray particularly the intra-oral periapical X-ray is the most widely recognized type. These X-rays give a lot of details and assist with observing cavities and different issues with the encompassing teeth structures.
- Panoramic X-Ray: Panoramic X-rays, prominently known as OPG Panoramic X-rays can cover the whole mouth in one picture.
- CBCT / 3D X-Ray: CBCT or Dental Cone Beam Computed Tomography is an X-ray which is used in case where regular facial or dental x-rays do not solve the purpose. It is special x-ray machine that produces 3D (3 dimensional) images of the teeth, nerve pathways, surrounding soft tissue and the bone in a single scan. CBCT provides clearer 3D image of the mouth as compared to a normal X-ray. It lets doctors perform in-depth analysis and provide better solutions and care to a patient.
